Project Overview
Anika the Great is a fantasy-action short about power, anger, friendship, and the difficult work of making things right.
Anika Dupree is helping manage her aunt’s trading company when she discovers that a mysterious bracelet gives her the ability to pull people across space and bring them directly to her. At first, the power feels like a chance to confront online trolls in a way the internet never allows. With her best friend Tamika by her side, Anika turns the empty warehouse into a strange kind of reckoning room for people who hide behind screens and cruelty.
But what begins as a cathartic fantasy quickly becomes more complicated. The more Anika and Tamika use the bracelet, the more the line between justice and revenge starts to blur. When the situation escalates, Anika has to decide what kind of person she wants to become and whether having power means using it simply because she can.
At its heart, Anika the Great is about the difference between being powerful and being great. The story blends comedy, fantasy, action, and social satire while following a young woman who learns that real strength is not just about confronting harm. It is also about accountability, repair, and choosing a better path after things go too far.
